History
South African Inline and Ice Hockey has had its challenges over the years. With limited venues to play and practice the team often does not get the game and practice time it requires however the preparation this year has been better thus far. South Africa hosted the Div III Ice Hockey World Championships and the inline hockey team is now made up of these players who have just competed in this tournament. South Africa qualified last year for the Inline World Championships by beating Namibia in 2 qualifying games played back to back in Windhoek, Namibia. The games were tightly contested with South Africa winning both games by one goal.
The team is a good mix of youth and experience with the oldest player being 31 and the youngest being 19. The team is looking forward to competing against the best teams in Inline Hockey with the main objective of making themselves a permanent fixture in the Inline World Championships.
