Rules

Inline hockey is a sport similar to ice hockey, from which it derived. It is played on special smooth artificial surface on inline roller skates with a lightweight puck, which is controlled by the same hole as in ice hockey. In 1992, inline hockey was the trial sport at the Olympics in Barcelona.

Rules extract

  • Game is divided into four quarters, each takes 12 minutes
  • Each team has 4 players and one goalie, i.e. not more than 5 players on the field
  • Simultaneously suspension of two players per one team, the second suspension is delayed, i.e. not playing two men short
  • The field is divided into two zones: the attack and defense – off-side is whisted on the red line
  • Measurements of the goal: 183 × 122 cm (H x W), i.e. the same as in ice hockey
  • The goal area is a rectangle 30 cm to left and right from each margin and ends one meter from the goal

More information

  • It is possible to play on different non-slippery surfaces (asphalt, concrete, special artificial sports surfaces)
  • Game can be played by players, who have experience from the traditional ice hockey
  • Contact is less than ice hockey
